Dr. Matthew Wheaton is a second generation veterinarian who was born and raised in Laguna Beach, California.

Dr. Wheaton attended University of California, Davis for both his undergraduate studeis and for veterinary school. After graduation, Dr. Wheaton completed a rigorous internship program at California Animal Hospital in West Los Angeles. The internship focused on surgery and emergency medicine which allowed Dr. Wheaton to accept his first job as an emergency veterinarian at Animal Urgent Care in Mission Viejo, California. He purchased Alicia Pet Clinic after 3 years at Animal Urgent Care and has been the Hospital Director ever since.

Dr. Wheaton is also the founder of The Pet Rescue center, a non-profit cause focused on saving the lives of animals and improving natural pet care in his community.
