Team Jake Getting Ready to Run
Jake Robert was 4 years old in 2006 and afflicted with Cerebral Palsy, yet his Dad Steve wanted him to experience life without limits. So Dad Steve trained for and completed the Orange County Marathon while pushing Jake in a wheelchair that Spring day in 2006…and Jake died that night in his sleep. Bonner Paddock ran with Steve Robert and Jake that day and Jake’s untimely death touched Bonner deeply.
When Noel Turner and the MOXXOR Running Team learned that on May 2nd in Orange County, California they could run the Orange County Marathon to raise money for United Cerebral Palsy and Bonner’s OM Foundation Noel said: “We’re in.” Team MOXXOR is joining Team Jake in the OC Marathon on May 2, 2010 to help kids with disabilities experience life without limits!
Team Jake is supporting United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County in collaboration with the OM Foundation to provide therapy and childcare services to special needs kids and offer quality support for their families.
There are several ways you can get involved with Noel the MOXXOR Running Team and Team Jake:
Run in the OC Marathon - You can do the Kid's Run, the 5K, the Half Marathon or the full Marathon. Register to Run…and during the registration process be sure to select Team Jake in the first step of the registration process where it says "Select a Team" as part of the proceeds from your registration will be given to United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County.
Donate to UCP of Orange County - Not a runner? Not to worry, you can still help Noel and the MOXXOR Running Team reach our fundraising goal of $5,000 by making a donation…you can go to www.1man1mission.org/teamjake to make a donation online and make a difference.
